Our program is designed for children ages 3 years to 6 years
old.   Admission to the school is based primarily on age and
space availability.  Children as young as 2 years, eight months
and potty trained can attend while the oldest child admitted
without previous Montessori experience is 4 and a half.  Our
specialized program is designed to expand the mind of a young
child.  The academic portion of the Montessori program includes
Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, Science and Cultural
areas in each classroom.  Children are exposed to a variety of
materials by our highly skilled educational staff.

Our school, located in Lone Tree, is divided into 2 areas – 2
classrooms on the south side, and 2 classrooms on the north
side, with each side having its own outside playground area.

All classrooms have an abundance of natural light filtering into the
rooms and are designed to be child-centered.  Each classroom
has bathroom amenities that are designed for small children.
There is a coat room where the children can store their personal
items.  Each class has up to 30 children of varying ages where
older children assist with the teaching of the younger children.
Each class has pets which the children are taught to nurture and
care for.

All four classrooms converge onto a central common area where
the offices, private rooms and kitchen are located.  Each of the
classrooms has an observation window where parents and
observers can view the class activities without interrupting the
teachings.

Our teaching materials are of the highest quality and are
continually inspected to ensure that high standards are met.  The
teachings are complimented by field trips which are organized
throughout the year.  These include visits to 'behind the scenes'
in restaurants, petting zoos, the State Capitol, Wild Oats, and
orchestra to name a few.

The school adopts an accepting and nondenominational view of
religious and cultural views.  The children are exposed to
numerous celebrations.  This gives children a greater
understanding and acceptance of differences in people.
At the end of the kindergarten year, children visit with a local
school to gain an understanding of what they can expect in first
grade.

During the summer months, the Montessori School at Lone Tree
offers a summer program which is divided into two 5-week
sessions.  It is up to the parents if they would like to enroll in the
entire summer, or individual sessions.
